    Awesome!

I added a third snake and it was a coastal carpet as well. You will see him out like clockwork every night at sundown. I suggest some type of LED Moon Light for night viewing. You will love your new snake!

Also look into THE COMPLETE CARPET PYTHON. It's a fantastic book!

    Keep the posts coming.

    Perfect!

I think your new acquisition will quickly become one of your favorites. I read the book in less than 2 weeks. I reread it when I'm going to sleep. There are nice pictures and the info is good to look at again and again.

My coastal is likely a coastal/diamond or jungle cross. You seem to have a more coastal looking coastal than what I have. Beautiful snake. Guess what?

The males actually are the larger of the two in many or the carpet species. Male combat takes place before mating and size helps during combat. The book, which is well researched states that coastal carpets don't have the same sexual dimorphism that is typical for male and female in many other boas and pythons. But, this is not true for all of the carpets.

Anyhow,, not to get overly in-depth. You'll enjoy your new snake. I'm sure of it!
