    UTH Thermostat's ~ Suggestions anyone?

Searching for the right UTH Thermostat for our new Ball Python (Boston) and realized that I need some help from the experts Hoping to get some advise on whats worth the $ and what is not necessary to have. I was looking at the Herpstat Basic or the Herstat 1. The only $ difference is this "optional humidity sensor" for true humidity control. Is this extra feature worth the extra money? What should a newbie look for when purchasing a UTH Thermostat? Open to other brands/products. We only plan to have one snake for the next 35+ years so we don't need any fancy multi-system setup. Just enough to make him as happy and comfortable Thank you for reading

I have never had the" optional humidity sensor" but honestly doubt I would use it if I had it. Any Herpstats are worth the money though. Work great, long lasting, and reliable

If I were in your shoes, I'd choose the Herpstat 1. Not for the reason you listed, but for the added benefit of the built in safety power relay that the Herpstat 1 Basic doesn't have. $24 for this feature is well worth it, IMO.

Sorry for my ignorance but what does Safety power relay do? Tried searching it on the web but it doesn't give a specific break down of features. I'm located in Canada so the cost to ship/exchange rate is well over an additional 50$. Anyone know of Canadian manufactures for these thermostats offering the same reliability?
