    heat cable or flexwatt?

If I build a 6 tub rack with the 7 inch tubs(35 qt sterilite). I really dont want to wire up 6 separate pieces of flexwatt, would heat cable be just as good? Would I need to put a groove in the wood because I dont have the tools for that either.
Ive heard of people running the flex or cable along the back wall but dont see how that could provide belly heat or maybe I misunderstood.

Also I would imagine the 3 inch flexwatt would be the one I use. Which of course means I have to get another thermostat...One thing leads to another and more and more money spent

Thanks so much for any help here.

Heat cable is junk! Flex watt is much better and will last longer.

I used flexwatt for my rack. The whole process was fairly quick, took me maybe an hour to wire seven pads together. My only issue is that two of my pads are barely heating. I think I may have crimped the clips on crooked, or not gotten the wires in well enough. Besides that, though, the heat tape works very well for me.

I use heat tape in all my racks. You could just run one piece from top to bottom. What is the ambient room temp and is the rack open or closed? If you don't heat the room, I doubt 3 inches would heat a 35 quart bin.
