ok i have an idea to try with rex. i heard from someone on this site to try to use a snake hook to get rex out since hes so snappy. well, i dont have a snake hook, so i plan on using a hanger. is that ok?

on an off note, i start my new job tomarrow, which is my 17th birthday.

has anyone ever seen that commercial for outback jack and that girl goes "i hate the outback, someone should burn it down and build a mall" someone should burn her down UGG :x

    got an idea...

Well regular handling should calm him down, but if not than I woul buy the hook. Because you could hurt him with a hanger.

i think it is a restaurant, but, ive never seen one

id also see if it calms down with handling, or find the cash for a hook, a hanger could hurt it

Pic's of Bob and his Enclosure (dial-up beware)

I'd say don't go with the hanger... just give it time and when you approach to handle go relatively slow and avoid touching or coming directly at the head.. this should help. Really the best thing you can do is take the bites and continue handling otherwise you could condition your snake to associate biting with you removing your hand and thus every time you want to hold him he'll snap to keep you away... show him that it won't keep you away slowly and gently and over time and as he grows he'll adjust. In this case a little TLC goes a long way and though I have never been bitten by a snake (yet) I can't imagine it's much worse than a rat, sugar glider, dog, hampster, or rabbit... unless it's like a retic or something. Good luck and keep us posted. I know Eddie had some trouble getting his BP used to handling as well.
