Ruby eyed ASFs
Does ANYONE know anyone who has the Ruby eye gene? (different from pink eye!)
I had them forever ago, and I had so many, that when I lost the gene, and started breeding other varieties, I thought it would be a sinch to find the gene again. But I'm running into problems finding it!

I've got some, I'm in Nanjemoy MD. I got my stock from Naked Acres. By pink eye you mean the ambers right? What I consider ruby eyed is a dark colored eye that when you hit it with the right light it shows ruby hue.

By the way, im not positive that i have any ruby eyes at the moment. I stopped checking a generation back. I will look when i get home to see if i have any visuals.

Okay thanks. Ruby eye can occur on any colour base. I used to, for instance, have ruby eyed agouti, ruby eyed cinnamon, and ruby eyed whites. It is a separate gene from pink eye. The pink eye dilution gene, always turns the coat into argente (or cinnamon argente) and the ruby eye gene does not dilute the coat colour.
Let me know if you have some! That's not too far from me.
