Help cooling off?

It's really hot today and the air conditioner decide to get all wonky. My usually 75oF room is now 84oF. Bean's cool side which is usually around 72oF is now at 84 and the lowest temperature in the tank is his water which is 82. I've put a giant fan in my room to circulate air, but so far it isn't helping much. Bean would usually be hiding right now, but he's come out and is hovering over the waterbowl to cool off.

What could I do to keep his tank cooler? Would an ice cube or ice pack work or is that not safe? Any suggestions would be appreciate.

You can place a bowl of ice in front of the fan to cool the room a bit but DO NOT point it at your tank.

I'll try the ice cubes in front of the fan. Would a cool cloth in the tank possibly work or is that not good as well?

I would not add anything in the tank that is cooler than your snake needs to be. A wet towel will cool and very possibly get below the desired temp which could be bad if your snake decided to use it as a hide.

misting the tank with cold water will bring temps down some..also why not turn his uth off for a little while.

Isn't 72°F a little too cool for a BP? My cool side stays at around 82°F. Iv also heard that temps should not drop below 75°F.

If the temp is 84 simply turn your hot spot off and only use ambient temp since it is that high.

Doing this will also allow you to turn the fan off.

And yes it is ok to keep snakes only using ambient temps when it is in the mid 80's
