    That does sound like a crappy week... but don't let a crappy week turn into a crappy month.

    Personally, I wouldn't waste money on a fogger for your snake. Humid hides are great, as mentioned already. I'd suggest sphagnum moss (it's cheap and last forever!), follow the instructions and ring it out well. You want it damp, not wet!

    As for soaking, do so after the bad shed has happened (not before - don't want to wash away any important oils) in 80F water. That would feel slightly cool to you, NOT WARM. Our body's skin temperature sits around 90F or higher in some areas, so luke warm to us is VERY warm to some snakes, which could explain the freaking out going on with your snake... partially, anyway.

    When in shed you can definitely do spot cleanings and water changes! It is just typically suggested to keep handling to a minimum to avoid stress for the snake.

    I think the lizard thing is a bit in your head... they don't drop weight that quickly, as far as I know!
