Handling and feeding a new ball python
Hey guys I just received my ball python yesterday morning. The last time she ate was Saturday, should I try to feed her again this coming Saturday? or do I need to wait longer? Also I was planning on starting to handle her for short periods of time 2 days following the feeding which will be monday. Does that sound reasonable? Please say "yes" lol. I'm dying to hold her

Personally I would not bother her at all for 5 days after receiving giving her a chance to adjust to her new home. As for handling everybody does it different but I don't see a problem with holding 2 days after feed I usually wait 3 days. You will notice if she has or hasn't digested her food. I know how hard it is not to hold your new ball. We would love to see pictures?

I only wait 24 hours. Never 48. And I never had a problem (knock on wood)

You should be fine with your current plan. If your bp seems stressed You will need to back off with the handling for a bit. Just take your time. They are all different.

Feed every seven days, and you can handle after 2 days, but as previously stated if the bp gets to where it won't eat probably best to back of some on the handling until it is eating again

Re: Handling and feeding a new ball python
I agree with the previous comments. It all really depends on your snake. Some snakes tolerate handling better than others. Some will stop feeding when handled too heavily but others tolerate it just fine. Just see how your snake reacts
