OK, I have never considered breeding but have read articles on the subject and everything I read said that you start in oct-nov, stop feeding keep them seperated until then, closely monitor day and night time light and temp changes, ect.

Well I currently have 2 ball pythons, 1 male and 1 I wasnt sure. They have been house together for several months now. I havent changed anything in their routine, feeding regular and keeping temps the same as always. It also is JUNE but they are mating. I thought I seen their tails wrapped around each other a couple of days ago but I couldnt tell and didnt think much about it. But again today, their tails were twisted together up in the air and I could def. see they were mating. Is this normal? What should I do? Does this ensure that she will become gravid? I am totally lost....any advice is greatly appreciated. Links, books ect....Thanks

No, it doesn't ensure she will become gravid and it often takes multiple attemps for fertilization to occur, so if you don't want eggs, I'd separate them right away. Otherwise, I'd start preparing for the possibility of a clutch.

There have been several attempts, the first time I noticed it was about a week ago and then yesterday. But now everytime I look in their tails are up and twisted together or just laying pressed against each other. How long does it take before you know if she has become gravid, and at that point should I remove the male? Can anyone recomend a good book that details how to care for her and the clutch? I never thought about breeding but I am a little excited now that I know there may be little BP's around.
