    I just got a zilla heat pad, is it possible to just remove the adhesive film and tape it up?

    foil tape is your friend.
    remove the wax paper, cover the sticky side of the heat pad with foil tape. (sticky side to sticky side)
    now you can use the foil tape on the edges to put it where you want and its easily removable.
