I know about the "train tracks" for het pied but is there other markers for het pied? Also how do you generally pick who to hold back as possible hets of other morphs?

a few recessive hets have markers. some het pieds (not all) have the railroad tracks, and some het clowns (not all) have some subtle signs in the pattern. these are the ones i know.
generally, recessives have absolutely no markers. none at all. how do you pick them? you pick the "normals" that look the best. or you pick based on the extra genes, or based on the quality of the extra genes. apart from that it is pure luck.
i think the following have absolutely no markers, and it is pure luck: albino, caramel, axanthic, hypo, lavender albino, candy, toffee, ultramel, genetic stripe. i could be wrong about one or two, i would not be very surprised if i would be wrong about genetic stripe.
so generally its pure luck. you cannot pick them out based on any markers when they are none, and thats generally the case.
The Big Bang almost certainly (beyond reasonable doubt) happened 13.7 billion years ago. If you disagree, send me a PM.
Evolution is a fact, evolutionary theory explains why it happens and provides four different lines of evidence that coalesce to show that evolution is a fact. If you disagree, send me a PM.
One third of the global economy relies on technology that is based on quantum mechanics, especially quantum electrodynamics (electron-photon or electron-electron interactions). If you disagree, send me a PM.
Time Dilation is real, it is so real that all clocks if they are precise enough can measure it, and GPS could not possibly work without it. If you disagree, send me a PM.
The 4 philosophically most important aspects of modern science are: Evolutionary theory, Cosmology, Quantum mechanics, and Einsteins theory of general relativity. Understand these to get a grip of reality.
my favorite music video is online again, its really nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oABEGc8Dus0

Just off the top of my head and only counting females I've proven (in some cases the males used to prove them where also possible hets):
0.2 50% chance het albinos (0.2 didn't prove)
0.1 33% chance het caramel (0.2 didn't prove)
0.4 25% - 50% chance het pied
0.1 50% chance het hypo
I've got eggs from my first possible het stripe in the incubator now but she was held back on the basis of being the only albino rather than on anything particularly stripy in her look. Also have eggs from a possible double het albino pied that already proved het pied.
IMHO pied and hypo often show in the hets. Hoping stripe and clown also do but I don't have any test results for that yet.

Here is a link to a marker for het albino newborn boa constrictors:
http://www.redtailboas.com/f15/how-i...litters-33869/
Does it work for ball python het albinos? I don't have access to any to check it out.

Deb I think you need to let others barrow that Horse Shoe

I've noticed het Toffee/Candy have bright white borders around the alien heads. Same when picking out Toffinos/Candinos. Het Ultramels have a wierd belly thing going on. Het Axanthics when combined with some combos display muted colors as hatchlings.....some even look axanthic emerging from the egg. Het Pieds also express in many combos other than belly markers. The het Pied gene is expressed visually or in pattern manipulation.
All het Pieds....

See any correlation? Some of these were proven from possible hets.
