just wondering if you can put a live plant or a few live plants a tank with a ball. For looks and mabey some with strong branches for them to climb, are you abel to do this?

Plants and Bps
Strong branch if you like is feasible - just make sure it is free of any bugs and whatnot and sterile as you can. Live plants they'd tend to crush into the ground (at least those small enough to grow in their enclosures - plus then you'd have the whole soil angle to contend with which in best case scenario is just a mess I would think.

I've seen/heard of putting in some plastic plants, mostly for looks, but I've never heard or seen anyone that added real plants. That's a good question as I really don't know.....anyone??

Heavy snake like a bp would just trample over live plants. Not much chance that they'd survive for long...and like Smulkin said, you'd have quite a bit of mess to deal with. Silk and plastic vines and such are fairly common and make beautiful homes.

Queen of Common Sense
I use fake vines in the tank for our larger BP. He used to climb in them when he was smaller, but he eventually got so big he tore them down a few times, and I don't think he even tries anymore. I still keep the vines in there for looks and to give Suki a better sense of security. If you want to give your BP something to climb on, I would recommend pieces of wood or thick grapevine, but cleaning those materials is a pain - we've pretty much given up on anything that porous.

On one of these forums, someone told me they were able to keep a live ficus that was trimmed so that most branches were large. Unless it's a really strong plant, I really doubt it will survive.

Bamboo ought to be sturdy enough and can be trimmed easily.

Great news!
I have no idea where you are, but around here you can get it at the garden store, farmer's market, or around the neighborhood. It may be harder to find elsewhere.
