Shed question for new owner

Hi everyone,

I have recently bought a new piebald python about a month and a half ago and have been taking care of her relatively well from everything I have been reading. (I have read tons of posts websites and husbandry info prior to purchasing the snake). I have am using zilla mini hallogen lights of 25watts which makes her hot side 88-90 degrees and a red mini inferred that makes the cold about 77-83ish. I use a Ryobi heat gun to take substrate readings and have dual temp/hydro meters on each side. The humidity fluctuates between 50-70% depending on how often I mist which is about 2x a day.

My question is having this snake about a month and a half now she hasn't gone into shed once. I purchased her from a breeder and he stated she was about 3-5 months old. I feed her hoppers to full sized mice ever 5-7 days. Is this normal? I hear a lot say every month they are supposed to shed. I love this snake and want her healthy so I may be a little paranoid. Please let me know what all of you experts here think of the situation. Thanks

She will pick up weight faster if you can get her on rats.

She'd is related to growth, growth is related to feeding.

If you feed the proper size prey ( something equal your snake's girth size since it is a July) your BP will grow and shed.

It is time to forget about the hoppers your BP is way past that star

@Deborha - Yeah I am trying to find a place by me that has rats. She is relativley small though I don't know if I should do pinkys or I think the next biggest are pups? What do you suggest. I don't have a scale yet cause I can't find a place to get one. I was looking in my local Bed Bath and Beyond and they had food scales but I don't know if those do grams or not :/ any suggestions?

Pinkies would be way to small. Try rat pups if u can find them the size of the thickest part of your snakes body. If u can't find rat pups u can feed him two mice instead of one if he will eat it.as long as u feed them to him in one feeding and not space it out u don't have to worrie about sausage butt. Lol beautiful snake by the way. Pieds are one of my dream snakes

A regular diet scale should measure in grams. I got mine in Amazon for about $15.

If that is truly her current size, an adult mouse every five days should be fine. I was able to get a really nice scale (myweigh 7001dx) for 30$ at Amazon. It sells for twice that on reptile supply sites.
