Help! I think my ball Python is Blind!

I have a ball python and he is about 6 months or so old. We got him from Petco and he was on frozen. That's what we fed him ever since.

On Sunday (his feeding day) I held it by the tail in front of him. (that's the only way he will eat) And he tried to strike at it but he went 3 or 4 inches out of the way! He kept missing 2 or 3 times after this. I am worried about him!
    Could someone help? Thanks

Re: Help! I think my ball Python is Blind!

I have some balls that do this quite often. They are typically spider morphs though :-o. The rest of my collection strikes and eats fine for the most part.

It could be that the feeder is not warm enough which can cause them to pick up more of your heat signature rather than their food's. I try to heat mine up to the point where they are nice and warm to the touch (~90-95°). Not only do I get a great feeding response from this but they are less likely to miss :-).

Good luck. I hope this reassures you.
