    To a certain extent. Aslong as its not mouth fulls its fine. You more so have to worry about the long "tooth"pick pieces getting there jaws stuck open i find vs them eating a bit that got stuck to rat. When i feed FT for the picky ones who are shy i swat away the substrate and place it on plastic for them.
