This really is not at all uncommon. Hissy hides all the freakin time! In fact, if i never took her out of her hides, i would never get to handle her at all. The only time Hissy really comes out is if either she is gettin hungry or I put sumthin new in her tank & she wants to explore. BP's would basically hang out in hides all day & all nite if they could.

Now that she has digested her meal (you should wait 48 hours before handling after they eat) you can feel free to pick the hide up off of him & take a look. Make sure he is alright. He probably will be, he is just being a BP!
