Q about Sidewinder
"Sidewinder -- Venom is of moderate toxicity. Human lethal dose is 40 mg and people have died from envenomation. Average venom delivered per bite is 20-63 mg. Venom is still lethal to mice and cats after 27 years of storage. Venom causes deep tissue necrosis at site of bite."

If your interested in the affects of venom a really good show to watch is Venom ER on Animal Planet.
It shows real life bites and the treatment.
See sidewinder bites alot on there.

Sidewinders and rattle snakes are close relatives. All i know that their bite causes the skin and tissue at the bite area to die and decay.
Thanks,

I have seen a few sidewinder bites on Venom ER . Mostly bites to children.
There venom is not the most potent by any means not like the Southern Pacific or the Mojave
but still can do some damage.
What I have learn from that show is even small bites from a sidewinder can be fatal depending on how your body reacts and what shape your in in terms of health but that's the case with any bite from something containing venom.
Venom attacts one or the other, tissue or nerves depending on the snake.
I personally wouldn't want to be bit by any of them, thanks
