I have finally gotten all my snakes to accept frozen/thawed rats. I feed small fuzzies to my smaller BPs and the growing BCI, and I give medium rats to Goblin the big guy.
I no longer own Ringer. I found a home for him, with a good local guy who knows his herps. So I now have two male BPs, one little bitty female BP, and of course Apache the bci.

    Pictures Galore - Some ?'s

Hey good for you on the frozen thawed! I still need to work on that with mine. Im feeding fresh killed. Its kind of a pain somtimes to find enough live rats/mice at the pet stores. I usually end up going to two or three different pet stores...
Im glad you found a good home for Ringer.. Are you downsizing?
Ive been thinking of selling my corns to concentrate on balls and kings. They are just too cute though.

Green_man see if you can find a local herp store. They usually have feeders up the yingyang.
    Thanks,

A little bit. I am only doing it for space-saving reasons, though. A cluttered herp room is a source of stress (to me) and it was just getting to be too much to juggle the care of all the herps I have, so I downsized a bit. No more, though; I am deeply attached to all the snakes I have now, and none of them are getting the boot! I kind of chose Ringer to go, because he just was NOT taming down, and I felt no real "connection" with him.
I would not have given Ringer to just anyone, though. The man who has him now, is very experienced with snakes (moreso than me, hehe) and has a large bci and several fat, healthy BPs. And we can even visit him.

    Help with New RTB

WAY TO GO!!! I got a bag of 20 Weaned rats from rodentpro.com because the feeders around here are terrible (poorly sized, poorly packed, and just don't look very good)

    New snake owner questions

    A nominal feeding day here:

We had Benny refuse f/t and even fresh-killed 3rd week in a row live rat BAM! He was doing well on f/t mice until we transitioned up to rats - he'll come back around soon enough.

2 of 3 Smynx's babies moved over to f/t and up a size - June is being picky still.

My son named his black blood Vader - he took his first f/t rat like a champ - somehow knew he didn't even need to do anything but just start swallowing.

Kali-Ma the lil' Red Blood is still the pickiest princess of the lot - wont have anything to do with f/t or fresh killed. She did move up a couple sizes from rat pups to small rats - was unsure whether she could take it but she sees live and it's like a heat-guided missle blurring out from the hide - her strike speed is phenomenal and I am STILL in awe of it.

Neph - she is just a dispos-all (yeah shocker for an AfRock I know) - weird strike she has - she'll shoot her head PAST the prey, start coiling from a loop she'll hook in her neck, then on the return she'll finally latch her mouth dead on the face - odd she doesn't bite first then coil.

So out of 14 we're down to 2 who still need to switch and 1 that fell off the wagon. We do the big rodentpro order as well, Jonah.

Heh, when Ippo took his f/t on Thursday, he constricted it for several minutes... I think he was a little confused but eventually let go. He grabbed the head from the back though (since I was clamping the mouse by the tail), and had to take a few minutes to find the nose... he was jawing it a lot though so maybe his teeth got stuck like someone mentioned in another thread.

Does everyone hold the tail by the way, or do you grab the mouse by the sides? I'm worried I might squish too hard since it's difficult to get a good grip on the sides with tongs, or that Ippo will wrap around the tongs as well.
