To measure temps & humidity I use an Acurite indoor/outdoor thermometer that measure humidity as well. They are perfect to use for your vivariums since they have a probe that you can place on the hot side and the unit as a whole measures the temperature on the other side or wherever it's placed. Edit: oh also for settling on of these up (I don't have an AP vivarium I have an Proline cage) I put the unit on the cool side of the cage and then use the ventilation holes in the back of the cage to pull the probe through to the other side so the cord won't be all over the place on the inside, then you stick it to the bottom of your hot side or wherever you want to put it & your all set up the device also has a clock setting so you have to push a button on the front to get it to the indoor/outdoor temp/humidity setting
Thanks. Have seen a few posts recommending these. In fact went to walmart to get one and they didn't have any. Guess I'll order online.

So you're mounting the unit itself inside the cool side and probe to hot. Does it display temp and humidity of cool side and hot side temp from probe? Would like to see all those on one display without having to reach in cage to hit a button to see the different measurements.
