I purchased a ball python on July 5th. I took him to the vet for on July 10th because he was breathing with his mouth open. The vet informed me that he had some parasites and was given a deworming treatment. His nasal cavity was flushed with a mixture of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication to help him breathe better. He is being given injections of Ceftazidime every 72 hours as directed. I took him back to the vet on July 19th for a repeat deworming. He ate a mouse on July 21st. I noticed that he has a purple discoloration in his mouth that was not there when he ate. He has another vet appointment on July 26th, but I don't want to wait that long if it is something serious.

His cage is always around 48 percent humidity on the warm side and 50 percent humidity on the cool side. The temperature is kept around 78 or 79 at night on both sides. The warm side is kept around 85 during the day. I have a light for heating during the day and a heating pad underneath the warm side of the cage.

I would really appreciate any help in finding out what the discoloration in his mouth might be. Or any other advice. Thank you.
