Our BP breeding season summary :)

So our last clutch of eggs hatched few days ago, and we decided to post a little summary
here are the clutches we hatched this season (only 5 but still we only had 6 females ready to breed).

    Normal x Spider - 7 eggs - 2.2 Spider, 1.2 Normal

    Normal x Lesser - 10 eggs - 4.2 Lesser, 1.3 Normal

    Mojave x Lesser - 8 eggs - 5.0 BEL's, 1.1 Mojave, 0.1 Lesser, 1.0 Normal
We got lucky and found twins in one of the eggs

Clown x Pastel het. Clown - 6 eggs - 1.0 Pastel Clown, 0.2 Clown, 1.1 Pastel het. Clown

Unfortunatelly one of the babies died in the egg (the egg looked bad from the beginning of incubation)

    Pinstripe x Lesser - 9 eggs - 3.2 Kingpin, 1.1 Pinstripe, 1.0 Dinker

Our Pinstrtipe female is carrying an extra gene, which we believe is something from a YB complex. She was purchased as a regular Pinstripe from Mike Wilbanks, but this is another year that she throws some weird looking babies (we call them dinkers since we do not know what that is ).
Unfortunatelly one of the babies was also dead inside the egg - was very badly kinked and had deformed head . Interesting thing is that this baby was in a marked egg (we marked it because it was outside of the female's coils. Maybe she knew that it was not going to make it - we will never know I guess :/.

So that was a good season for us, we are really happy with the odds, but we didn't hit any BEL female, and we wanted to keep one .
Also it sucks that we lost 2 babies, but on the other hand we rescued little spider girl as she emerged from the egg prematurelly and didn't reabsorb her eg sack. In the end we had to cut it off, but she survived and is feeding on frozen rat pinks .

Here is a video of the whole process :

Now we cannot wait for the next season .
