Freeze 2 liters bottles of water. Set BEHIND a box fan. The fan will pull the cold air from the frozen water bottle and blow it out. Set bottle on a towel because condensation will form on the outside of teh bottle and make a mess otherwise.
But it works REALLY well for knocking the edge off the heat ina room and if you're directly in front of it, it's downright nippy.
