Yup, Ball Pythons only eat to please themselves. It's frustrating, but they almost always eat eventually.

Ball python hasn't eaten in > 1 month

Most weigh in grams. This puts him at around 1020 grams. That's not a bad weight for an adult BP.
Edit: male BP - an adult female would weigh more.

Depends on what he weighed before he went off feed. Is his backbone prominent? Is he triangular shaped? If not, no, not really.

    Here's a video:
    http://youtu.be/79sEt82EMR8

His backbone doesn't look prominent to me, nor does he look triangular. He does like to puff at me though.. he does it a lot while around my neck, but never seems hostile or defensive, so I'm not sure what the puffing is about. He's done it for as long as I can remember. I'm familiar with what a respiratory infection is like, and this doesn't seem like that.

Here's the raw version if you can view .mov:

Looks like a healthy snake to me. If you did not post it here I would not know he is off feed!

    my bp not eating

just got a new ball python about 3 weeks ago.the snake has not eaten ever since I took possession of him.he s a fat snake too,and did just poop, and still drinking.I have another in the cage that I just got,and he snatched the fuzzy right up.I have two hides in a 75 gallon tank, hot side, run 80-90 and humidity 50-60.cool side a little cooler 75,with humidity about the same.i called the store where I got the snake, and they said not to worry,he may be stressed, going to a new home, plus he just got to them that day.well,y is the smaller snake eating.these are young snakes that have everything.what should I do.I tried the tub I feed in,and the cage.

    To python357

Best is to start a new thread with your issue instead of posting question in someone else's.

    How big is the snake?

Here are some tips, house your animals individually.

    Provide an adequate size enclosure.

Stabilize your temps on the warm side (too much fluctuation)

    No handling

    Feed in the enclosure

    Feed the appropriate size prey
