Starting to breed?
Hello. I'm coming to you guys and gals today looking for some advice. So me and a friend of mine have a huge passion for reptiles and animals and general. The thing is were juniors soon to be seniors and would love to breed ball pythons and some colubrids. We'd be looking into a 1.1 Ball python, maybe. But most likely a 1.2 Corn snake breeding group. I know the best answer would be for us to wait until out if college but I'm sure one of you did it before and I wanted to see if anyone had some advice because it's hard to tame something when you have such a big passion for it.

I know, I know, you don't wanna hear the word "wait", but seriously, wait. Not just because of your age, but because to get involved with the really fun stuff, you need some serious cashflow. Before you even have the snakes, you need the enclosures, the feeders, the incubator, the sheer space, and THEN you get to actually look at what you wanna breed! save up. seriously. you will feel much less rushed when you actually START your projects if you have all of this nailed down beforehand. tossing 20 bucks a paycheck into a savings account can buy you some real powerhouse animals down the road.

starting with a new specie and thinking about breeding right away is thinking too far ahead. why don't you just get a pair of ball python pets for starters? the snakes will be ready for breeding eventually, and by that time you will be more ready, or you may even change your mind about breeding and be satisfied with simply taking care of the wonderful critters.
breeding balls is way too much work and stressful for the animals and the keeper. i'm quitting as soon as i'm able to produce my own spieds and albino pins.....(yeah right!!!) lol...

I know I probably will end up waiting. We were just gonna breed corn snakes since most morphs aren't that expensive and in between both of us money wouldn't be a big issue and we know a guy who breeds feeders. But in the end waiting would probably be the best
