I would find out how many clutches the female has produced - she laid this year, did she lay last year and the year before? Eventually the girls do take a year off so the breeder may be figuring that the female isn't likely to go next season if she's laid three years in a row.
The breeder may also be replacing the female with a 3-gene female, or with a pewter that lays bigger clutches.
Otherwise the seller may also be discounting heavily since you're paying cash and picking up the snakes, so there are no worries about a chargeback, fake money orders, shipping snafus, etc.
Obviously check for RI's and mites, but if the critters are healthy I would do this deal.
