Largest you'd keep in a 28 quart?

Just wondering at what weight you'd move a bp to a larger bin? Curious because the rescue I picked up today came with a nice 4x2' PVC cage that's divided into three 24x16" sections. The little male that's in one section is only 445g so he's fine, but I'm trying to decide if it's worth keeping this cage or selling it and buying a rack. I'm hopefully picking up an 800g pastave male this weekend so he can go in another, but Monday I've got an over 4000g girl coming so she's probably going in a 60q tub, she's huge and I can't imagine her in a 41q. Years ago I had an 1100g male that wouldn't eat in anything larger than a 28q but is there a general weight range where a 28 is getting cramped? If I pick up anything else it will be a breeding size female so I'll probably need a larger set up. I just really like this cage.

Smallest I have is a 32qt and my males will reside there and females in 41qt. I dont know when I would need larger for a BP but I plan on 74qt racks for my RTBs.... I do know of a couple prominent boa guys who house 4-5foot boas in 41qt. I would say play it by ear. Some snakes want space, my female boa would probably rather be I a shoebox rather than a 74.

Id sell it and get a rack TBH There is not 1 fault with my first PVC rack i had, cleaning as ezpz. looks tidy and "professional". Aswell as snakes liked it better!

I have a 28 qt rack and they love the privacy the rack gives them. But none of mine are over 1000g yet. Once my female hits 1000 I'm most likely gonna build a 32 or 41 qt rack as well.

That's what I figured, as much as I love the look of the PVC cages it's just not all that practical. I'll be picking up a proven breeder pewter female and a 900g pastave male in a few weeks and I just don't think I can put a female in there. Better start building something.

I keep all of mine in 28qt or divided 28qt tubs, except for hatchlings. My largest BP is about 1600g, smallest is about 300g. I used to keep some of the larger adults in 41qt tubs but they seem to be feeding better since I moved them into the smaller tubs.

To me, it really depends on the snake. You will get to know which ones will eat just fine and appreciate the bigger space, and which snakes will get stressed out when they are introduced to a 41qt tub. In general, I think we move snakes to 41qt when they are about 1500 grams. It varies though.

once they start getting over 2000 grams I think generally is when they start looking cramped. Every snake is different, a fatter snake I might move up sooner rather than a longer skinnier snake of the same weight. Then I have one snake that I would love to move up, but she refuses to eat in the 41qt, so she sits in her 28qt happy as can be.
