How did you heat yours? did you use the metal with wood shelving or the wire shelving?

The metal with wood, and I ran flex watt across it and also used heat pads.

also had a question.....if i wanted to build a 4x2 melamine rack could i run the heat tape as one big piece or would i have to cut it individually? I was thinking about running 11 or 12" tape would that give me enough heat for 40" tubs?

You can do it either way. I prefer to use a single piece.

You should go to Home Depot, they have perfect shelving units for breeder racks. I put up a DIY

What selves are these exactly? They look like they work well. Sorry to hijack but I am in the same process. Do you have a price on them?

There the 5 shelf units from home depot, 24x36. They cost about $50. I just bought one last night and will be assembling a rack out of just one shelf instead of two. I'm counting down the hours until my work day is over and I can get to the good stuff!
