    New Baby Rat Video!

I got some good feedback from my BP video last week, so I decided to do another in the same style but with rats. They're not easy to photograph, so video actually makes a lot more sense for them to me. Let me know what you think and make sure to subscribe for more critter-related videos!

I have some clips of the dwarf rats I'm going to put together to highlight dwarves separately, so these are just good ol' big normal ones.

I didn't know there were actually designer rats. Is there really that much of a demand for them? I know people keep them as pets(I have myself) but I figured they were bred more for food.

There's a market - but this is not an ad, just showing off some rats. There are actually breeding standards and show rats, too. Literally competitions on the best looking rats by various standards.

Rats make incredible pets (as you must know) so when you can pay a little more for something that looks beautiful, lives twice as long because it's bred for health, and super friendly because it's selectively bred for temperament... it's worth it.

Yeah out of all the rodent/furry pets I had as a child l always considered rats the best. Defiantly the smartest. I would most likely own some now if I didn't currently live in Alberta. It's illegal to own live rats here.

OMG! Cuteness overload here. Those are some very impressive looking babies. I love rats. They are the best pets in the world and very intelligent too.

In my opinion, the only thing that keeps them from being one of the best pets out there, is how few of them die of old age / natural causes.

    Cute video though!

And even when they die of old age, it is way too soon.

Nice rats you have, MrLang. I liked the one with the sort of lightning marking on its face in the first litter.

Too true, my last two boys made it to 2 1/2 years old (a guess since we got them at Petsmart), one had an absess that we had to have removed and he died a few weeks after his operation. I wish rats made it to at least 5 years, but alas...

We can't wait to get our three new fuzzy family members! It will be nice to get carefully bred little ones this time instead of who knows how old pet shop ratties.
