Mite question

I have been very fortunate to not have any mites. However, in the case of an outbreak I was wondering if the treatments would be caustic to my arachnids. Knowing mites are arachnids, my guess is that it would do damage.
I keep my animals in the same room, so if a mite outbreak does happen, should I do a full quarantine? I only have three snakes, so it wouldn't be much work

Definitely. I plan on giving the vivs a preventative spray this week and wanted to plan that ahead of time.
However, after a day or two after the spray should they be OK to return to their normal room?

Really can't guess on that, it would depend on what your using.

I'm pretty sure I've read that the mite treatments can be fatal for spiders, so if you keep both you'll need to be very careful. Also, some of the mite treatments leave a residue that can continue to kill mites for 30 days or so. This is generally a good thing, as it kills mites as they hatch from the eggs which are immune to most treatments, and thus a single application can often fully eradicate a mite problem. However, it might be a really bad thing in your case. I'd try to get advise on an arachnid forum, where you are more likely to find people who know for sure what is dangerous to the spiders and what isn't. And proceed with caution. As was said, better safe than sorry.
