    From the pics it really looks like a jungle. If it's only a year old it is most likely still color changing though. Hatchlings carpets don't come put with their natural colors and it changes with each shed until they get their adult colors. I am not sure exactly how long that takes but I have heard it can take a few years.

    If it was sold to you as a coastal it most likely still needs to grow into its colors. If it still looks like a jungle when it's grown more I would think you may have been lied to that those are the parents.

    Looking back at the pics though it does really look like a jungle. I don't know why you say an ugly jungle. It just looks like a typical jungle. If you are just comparing it to the high yellow jungles, those aren't really natural looking. They are bred to get those colors. In the pics it looks more like a regular jungle carpet.
