Where to find glass front fridge?

Vacaville. I've dug through so many wine cooler ads. The only one that seems like it would work is this 100 bottle one for 250 about an hour away... but then I don't know if i want to start out that big because it's going to have to be moved several times until we can get a house hopefully next year.

All the other ads are too small of a cooler or too new and expensive.

Why not look for 2 - 30 bottle and that leaves you able to move equipment easily.

I guess part of my problem is I don't know how much room I need. How many clutches would fit in that fridge? This coming year I'll be needing room for maybe 3 clutches at most. The year after that I'll be needing that big wine cooler.

You should be able to fit a clutch in a 6qt no problem and that fridge I would assume can hold 6+ 6qts once racks are rearranged.

I found a decent one on Craigslist 2 years ago.
It was a broken wine cooler. The structure and body was fine. It just wouldn't cool. Got it in Sac.

Maybe you want to give up on the idea of a glass front one until you are settled into a more permanent location. Craigslist is full of ads for cheap or free fridges and freezers. Most of the free ones don't work...but that doesn't matter for this purpose.

I would look for you and post a link but I'm in a hurry right now. I bought a simple fridge from walmart with a glass front. Not a wine fridge which is expencive, this thing was 50 bucks a large. In fact I used it to display my grab and go food items at a food cart inside a corporate building I used to have. Now it's being used to store my iced coffee and teas at the cafe. I will see if I can find one similar when I get home and pass on a link. Good luck!

For a fridge, the glass front is luxury for normal people, but for stores that sell stuff its basically mandatory.

And you want good thermal insulation, so an *actual* fridge that really keeps things cool and is designed to run 24/7 with some energy efficiency is what you want. You do not want a new one or one that still works, because these are expensive. You do not want a cheap one that works, because keeping wine somewhat chilled requires no insulation, and energy efficiency also is of no concern when you sell your crap directly to consumers, it takes years before they notice that the insulation is shabby and it uses an awful lot of energy.

So, basically, send out your feelers, when you see something appropriate standing in a shop near you, ask management who services it and what is being done when it breaks. And tell them that you would very much like to buy a broken one, just for the thermal insulation. When these things break, they either get repaired or replaced, and whoever brings a new one takes the old one, and if a repair is not worth it they get disposed of / destroyed.

Hunt it down. And that involves talking to the people that have nice ones running and working (as coolers), and then having them call you when one is broken beyond repair, or get the phone number of whoever services these things. Offer some money, when they know you offer 50 bucks for a large freezer with a large glass door that is broken, and some kickback tips, they might be happy to give you their contact or call you when one of theirs breaks down.

So i would go for an inexpensive solution that does the job for a while right now, and keep hunting for the big professional cooler that used to be in a store or at a petrol station on the side.
