    First milk snake

I just happened to get a free snake while buying crickets. A nurse noticed me talking about snakes while I was getting spider food. It just so happened she was looking for a home for her milk due to a snake phobic fiance. She gave me him, the enclosure, uth, a hide, all the bells and whistles for absolutely nothing. He is in good health, I just soaked off a partial shed. He is missing a few snakes due to a person who fed him live in a small container. Needless to say a mouse chomped him. Otherwise he is a very cute and curious snake!
I just can't tell his morph. He is super red with only black bandings. Me thinks hypo?

Yeah! This one is a boy too. He's a sweetheart. I feel so fortunate to have gotten an excellent deal. Perhaps good karma for finding a place for a little stray cat in a parking lot.

This may sound silly, but will the missing scales effect him? I never had a scarred snake. Obviously he is only going to be on f/t lol

    Looks like hypo Honduran.

Did she say how long the scales were like that? If its recent and not too bad it could come back with shedding. If it is a permanent scar it shouldn't be an issue. If it was a fresh wound you would need to make sure it won't get infected. Do you have pics of the missing scales?

    Re: First milk snake

I can get some pics. The woman got him from someone four years ago, so I'm assuming it's been scarred up. It just looks like some white skin.

Those scars will be fine. Nice looking snake.

He looks a little thin/triangular in those first couple pics IMO. My eyes could be out of focus this morning though.
