Hello to the forum people here! New and excited member to the forums.
Well first off, hello to anyone reading this! I just signed up on the forums today of all days. Been reading the stuff here and I have to say I am really impressed. Alot of you seem to be very helpful and knowledgeable in the area of snake husbandry. I look forward to being able to learn from all of you experienced folks and hopefully help out where I can.
A little about me I guess. I am a full-time zoology college student here in Oregon. I just moved to Eugene Oregon a year ago to get my bachelors degree here at Oregon State University. I just became a father to 2 awesome little babies. A boy and a girl. I am semi-experienced in snake handling and have owned many snakes in the past. I wouldn't call myself an "expert" as that word IMO gets thrown around WAY too much heh. I know what I am doing, but always open to betterment I guess .
Currently I don't have any snakes as I am moving into a 3 bedroom place next month from a one bedroom and with kids I wanted the room before I move for not only the families sake but the snakes wellbeing also. Other then that as I said it is awesome to be here.

This is the right place, though it may have already been moved. If you think you've made a mistake you can always PM a moderator or admin (the users with RED and GREEN names) or you can use the 'report post' function on that particular post and that will also bring it to the attention of a moderator.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes and such. As far as the type of snake. Well I would like to not have a limit as income wise i can afford anything. Unfortunatly that is not the case though. I just had twins so I have two 3 month old babies to consider and I currently live in an apartment until next year when i start at the university. Then I will have a house with a dedicated room. So I was thinking of something calm demeanored and say 6-8 foot max for length.
I am still trying to sort between doing a glass setup for now while i am in the apartment or going tub. One of my weak areas is tub husbandry. If anyone know any good tips I am totally all ears. Other then that species selection is open. Prob at least get 1 or 2 ball pythons if i decide to go the rack way.

Omg twins I couldn't even imagine. Tubs are way easier to to keep humility in. You could buy the whole setup first and run it without the snake to kinda test out and get everything right first. Just make sure to get a good thermostat
