FedEx Shipment delayed - my new snake is stuck!

So I just purchased my dream snake. A Paradox Banana, I thought I would never find a Paradox Banana and I just happened to. I keep mostly for pet so that is the most gorgeous snake in my opinion, and I was luck to pick him up.

Well I guess there where thunderstorms mid state and he is now stuck in the middle of me and the seller, and he is not coming until tomorrow. To add to the stress I work at a animal hospital and have a 12 hour shift so I will now have to receive the snake at work.

Has anything similar happened to anybody here? I think he has a really good chance of being fine the temps are nice, but he is sort of irreplaceable so I am stressed out!

I've had them delayed for a day before and as long as the shipper packaged them right and the carrier takes car not to leave them in the sun or something it should be fine.

As wound up as I would be, I will tell you what others would tell me.
Just relax, there is nothing you can do about it right now.
I all the hands involved do their jobs right then everything will be okay.

There is a pic from the seller.

I have shipped and received a lot of snakes and never had a shipment delayed! I have only heard of such situations, and he is just a baby so I am worried. The seller seems experienced and has good feedback so I expect the snake will be packed well

Also both the seller and I have called and they are taking extra good care according to FedEx because they know there is a reptile in the box.

In the past 6 months I had two similar issues, one due to a broke down plane and the other due Fedex routing my package in the wrong direction, leading in both cases to my animals being delivered the day after they were due.

In both cases both animals made it just fine and my customers were happy.

The important is to know how to pack, when to ship and when not to (no shipping in extreme low or high temps) and stay on the top of things, being proactive and getting the package located and back on track soon as the issue is discovered is important to.

Once a delayed package is found and FEDEX is notified that it is a live animal inside, the package will be kept in a air conditioned room until it's next flight.

It happens but in most cases the animal is fine.
