    Pinstripe x Yellow Belly Clutch

The parents locked repeatedly from December through February. On May 2nd, the yellow belly female laid 6 lovely eggs.

Here they are a few hours after being laid...

Nice pairing, I'm partial to anything yellowbelly. Good luck. They're getting closer to hatching. Be sure to post pics of the babies.

Thanks! This is what they look like now, on day 48 of incubation. They've really started dimpling over the last week or so...

Day 52 now... everything still looks fine. The eggs are even more dimpled. I want to let them pip on their own but it's getting harder to resist the urge to cut the eggs.

I've heard a few people say that the eggs need to dry out a bit before hatching, because they could drown in the egg if the humidity is too high... is this true? I tried to search for more info but couldn't find much about it. I don't want to screw up right at the end!

If it's day 52 you can cut them or you can wait a little but I cut my first clutch on day 52 recently and they all came out perfectly Healthy. And I'm not too sure but I don't think you want them to dry out

Yeah, I don't think you really want to dry them out. That might make the shells get harder for the babies to cut through. Then again, if you cut, that won't matter.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep the humidity up.

No pips yet. If none of them pip by Saturday, I'll most likely cut the eggs. They'll be on day 57 of incubation by then.
