    Temp and heat tape

So I read that the temp needs to be around 90 where my heat tape is and that the other side should be around 80-85. Is this right? My house is cooler then that but won't the heat tape keep inside the bins warmer then room temp?

Heat tape will keep the ambient temp in bins up a tiny bit, but not enough to keep the cool side warm enough...I have my snakes in a spare room and I have to keep the room in the upper 70's low 80's to keep the cool side warm enough...

Yep, heat tapes purpose is not to raise ambient temps.
