    Breeding suggestions?

I recently acquired a couple new females that I dont have set breeding plans for yet. I was hoping to get some suggestions on some sweet combos that I could make with these 2 girls. One is a mojave and the other is a fire YB. It would be awesome if I could purchase one male to breed them both. I'm looking at a budget of 1k max. Any thoughts?

When I see mojave, I always think pinstripe. Jigsaws are awesome. However, pinstripe combined with fire and YB are both fairly subtle morphs. Adding a third gene in to those makes some awesome 3 gene combos, though. And the fire YB pin isn't bad.

Also, you happen to have picked one gene from each of the 3 common gene complexes that BPs have. Something from the BEL complex will allow you to make BELs or other neat combos with your mojave. Something from the YB complex will allow you to make neat things with the YB gene, and something from the fire complex will allow you to make neat things with the fire gene.

Combining those 2 ideas, the first direction I would look is for something from one of those 3 complexes combined with pinstripe. Maybe a kingpin (lesser pinstripe) or a vanilla pin.

I really like the kingpin idea for the mojave girl! Lots of exciting possibilities there.

It would be nice to hatch out a super fire as well.

I would stray away from mixing bel complex unless its a mystic/phantom or special. Potions and crystals are really nice and you can pick up a male that could make those under $300 thats of breeding size. Leopard mojave and leopard yb are realy good looking if i were you I would buy a spider leopard or pin leopard.

i agree, lesser mojave BELs look nice, but i like the grey head of the super mojave BELs. and for future breeding, as a holdback, super mojave is much better when you want to make mystic potion / purple passion or crystals in the future. so, no lesser, aim for super mojave or potions or crystals.

since you dont have pastel yet, you might want to consider staying away from it (others disagree, there are pastel fans, personally i think too many people work with pastel and its quite boring, there are better genes available that deserve more attention).

maybe you could get a fire mojave or a yellowbelly mojave, so that you have a chance of getting super fires or ivorys as well, from the other female.

i also like the suggestion of getting a leopard pinstripe, these are awesome, and if you manage to add fire or mojave or YB to that combo, it should be really nice.

    Re: Breeding suggestions?

How old are the girls? If you are going to have them ready this season, then yes get the male,
if the girls are 2013 then spend your $ on a few more females.
    Then get the male later.

    Re: Breeding suggestions?

    Thanks for the replies eveyone!

Both girls are 2012. The Mojave is about 1400 right now and the Fire YB is around 1200.

I like the idea of the leopard pin male a lot. Anything leopard just looks so clean. I also like the look of the crystals and potions. Would the best thing be to simply buy a mystic/special/phantom male to breed my mojave girl and then sell the male if I hit the odds? Or should I go for a super mojave first?

I do own a bumblebee male and I like the pastel gene in general, just not my male's haha. He browned out very early and I'm trying to avoid throwing the average pastel gene from my bee into everything I have.

He could still throw you very nice babies, I had seen the UGLIEST bumblebee ever (pretty much looked like a spider) give the most amazing bumbleebee/queenbee off spring. So don't let that deter you.
