    Maggie the moose.

Hi folks. I purchased this girl a couple years back, as a Genetic Blackback.
She just laid us 9 huge eggs, and still weighs over 3000g

Now, to me, she doesn't look much like the examples of Blackbacks I have seen online.
So, I ask you, does she look like a nice reduced normal? A blackback? Something else entirely?

Eggs will be ripe in 14 days, so we shall have more information soon

I'm not sure I'd call that a blackback. She actually has several spots along her dorsal, I counted over a dozen. What is different is that they are mostly all connected to the side spots. So it is sort of like a banded pattern, but I don't see a single place where it connects on both sides to make a true band.

Whatever she is, she is beautiful. What was she bred to? Pls post pics of the babies when they are out!
    Casey

She was paired with a Pewter, and I certainly will post the babies.
Only two weeks left in the oven!

I would consider her a reduced pattern more than a black back...she is definitely nice looking...

Thanks for the opinions folks. It seems pretty unanimous. I think I'll just stop calling her a Blackback haha.
    "Reduced pattern normal" it is!

She reminds me of a girl I used to have...sold her off years ago and have regretted it ever since...
