    Nervous/scared royal!! :(

So i purchased my second royal lately (lesser het clown) and am just buzzen at how cool he is.. colours are awsome... but im new to royals and have very little experiance and am learning as i go...
Basically i purchased this male from hamm germany which was brought to me here in n.ireland. quite the journey.. but compared to my little het clown female.. who is a we dote... my new male is soo nervous and jumpy... litterally he jumps with fright ao much he makes me jump lol.. just reaching in to lif his water bowl would cause him to jolt backwards with fright.
He doesnt seem to express this in an aggressive way... but more fear and nerves.. i can understand this i guess as hes traveld quite a distance and can imagine this would be stessful for a royal. But what my question is... has anyone else got or had experiance similar to mine?? And if so.... will or did yours settle in time? Any advice??

They are all different and you have to understand like you said he was on quit a journey, his system is a lil shocked right now, Get his enclosure set up and let him be for min 7 days before even feeding. Try to keep noise and lighting to a minimum. On 7th day you can try offering food and if he does not take, offer again in 7-10 days.... After 2-3 consistant meals, he then can be ready to be handle'd.

But not all snakes are so calming, a few of mine are head shy and jumpy even after the year iv had them! He should warm up to ya!

Best of luck, and good looking guy!

You need to give Him time to settle in. If you keep scaring him like that he will only become more stressed and possibly go off feed. You should ask the breeder what his behavior was like while in his care. Some BPs are just shy. Most will be just fine but you need to handle with as little as possible until he eats consistently for you.

I totally umderstand. Just have to make sure temp/humidity are good and he has proper hides and then just leave him to settle in. Once he settles down you will be able to truly enjoy your new pet.
