I have been talking with Brian from BHB for a couple months now about this banana that stirred so much controversy the other day in a post that did not have to do with his genetics. He's been telling me from the beginning it was a special banana, but not a spider. I persisted because I was ignorant on genetics, that's what I was told when I bought him, and I really wanted him to be special. Turns out no matter how badly you want something to be something, it isn't going to become something else- but really that dorsal had me going for awhile. That and I am very stubborn. I didn't want to believe I drove over an hour away to pick up an animal that was "just" a banana- or that I paid too much, or that people on a forum knew more about my animal than I did. Or that I made a mistake. But here we are. I did all those things.

Brian has been supportive for months because he's known this moment was coming for awhile- he knew I was wrong. I wish I would have listened 3 months ago as opposed to an hour ago but I've never been good with timing. Anyway, I posted this because I know everyone on here thinks I am an idiot now for thinking he was a spider. I don't think I am a complete idiot, but I definitely think I chose to see only what I wanted to see. People do that when they sense they messed up. And I did.

In any case, I am getting most of my money back, but I am not getting all of it back. I love my animal. He's not a spider but he's mine. So I'll cut my losses and see what I can do from here. I don't know if any of you can see the twitter link I posted of the conversation of Brian B. and I, but I linked it just in case. We had a long standing bet on this banana. If 'Nana produced spiders in January he was going to mention 'Nana and I on the show, haha. And if he didn't, I owed him 60 hours of free labor at the BHB warehouse. So when he doesn't produce any spiders, I will be owing him him 60 :l Which will be awesome anyway xD

Sorry to those I offended by appearing stupid or naive or whatever it is I appeared. I won't be calling him a spider from this point onward. He is a banana. More importantly, he is my banana.
