Is my BP underweight?
I have a new ball python and she is thinner than all of my others. She's supposed to be 6 years old and is only 900grams. I don't know if you can tell in this photo, but her spine seems to stick out more than my others and I noticed she is more wrinkly looking and her tail is much thinner than other ball pythons. Photo: http://i.imgur.com/0AWaX5r.jpg Don't know if you can tell but I thought she looked quite thin. Also, the breeder told me she was 1200 grams and I weighed her as soon as I got her because she did not look 1200 grams to me, and she is coming up at 900grams. Does this seem honest, or is it looked down on for the breeder to be so far off on the weight?
Thanks

TBH thats a "awful" guess to say 1200 grams, that is very far off, 100-200grams AT MOST and that is if they dont usually way them empty, she is very thing looking for a BP. Not fat and stocky like she should be. Id definitely contact seller as well try to Get her slamming food down to get back up to weight! There should be either a return or money back for that difference.

Re: Is my BP underweight?
How long have you had her?
Has she ate for you yet?

Re: Is my BP underweight?
I've put one hide in with her already, I'll put another in. I've had her for 3 hours. When should I attempt to feed her? A couple days? A week?

Give her a week to settle down. How is she behaving?

Re: Is my BP underweight?
I am guessing if she is as hungry as she looks she would eat. I would try to feed her now. If it time to eat I will offer mine food the same day and usually don't have any trouble with them eating as long as temps are normal.

Id feed her but when its dark, and your presence isnt as shown just wiggle rat/mouse whichever you feed if she doesnt strike leave it in over night (on warm side) should be gone in the am
