Thoughts on Stinger Bee x Spinner breeding?

Stinger bee male x Spinner female? What will be the outcome? Would it be worth it? Or should save the spinner for a different male for example pastel lesser or something with that gene? What do you guys think?

I don't recommend this pairing. Homozygous spider genes are lethal. Focus your pair on different partners - pastel lesser would be great!

i think you would get a drop in fertility because the homozygous spider isnt viable.

thats my opinion, there is some debate, i would avoid spider x spider because i think the fertility drop is real.

Nobody has ever proved the homozygous spider fatal - they have just never seen one.

There are no reports of extra slugs or dying eggs to explain it either.

Yes. I just stated the "simple" theory. There is a lot going on with this gene that is yet to be explained. But that is a topic thoroughly covered in many exhaustive threads already.

I think enchi spinner is a great combo to shoot for. They will be super reduced and the color should be awesome! good luck with that pair, let us know how it turns out.

I was thinking of that thread at the time but couldn't find it.

It's the lack of dead or dying eggs or even slugs that drives me nuts about this subject - there doesn't seem to be nearly enough to account for a 25% chance per egg.

Yes thats why a stinger bee came to mind. I didnt want a single gene male. Maybe ill settle for it one day. My female spinner is 930grams. Almost ready!
