Re: Late Season
I've been having a late season as well. No ovys yet, but she's still glowing and not eating so im confident she will go eventually, just need patience. You have a good two months of pairing on me though.

I guess I lied, said earlier that all three I was pairing this year had popped and I was done. There was one more I paired once...closer to the smaller side of things at 1550g. I figured she would not go this year and a little more size on her would give me a better clutch next year...well she rolled out 8 healthy eggs today lol

I asked this in another thread and I guess some of these responses are inconsistent with the votes I got there. How predictable are your females? In my other thread, nobody seemed to think that a single female could 'swing' her ovulation time more than a month. Agree or disagree?

All of my females this year where virgin so I am the wrong person to weigh in on ovy swings year to year. I am really hoping the luck I have carries through to the hatchling ratios. 4 virgin clutches 34 eggs ...now all I need are the odds gods to like me for a few more months

I am also having a late year. I have one clutch I just put in the incubator recently, one female due to lay soon and one female swelling from building.

Congrats! I'm super jealous! I did have a female shed yesterday. She's been hanging out on the hot side and stopped eating about two weeks ago. She ovulated June 13th last year and her behavior told me she may go sooner this year. I may have very well missed her ovulation and she just had her pre-lay shed. I'll be keeping a close eye on her. My other female was 1900 in August and is now pushing 3100g. She's a virgin girl and in shed. She's still pounding food so I hope this shed is her pre-ovulation shed.

I think it depends on the female. Out of the three females I'm breeding, two look like they are going to go. One is a virgin, one ovulated June 13th of last year. If you see my response to the quote above, you'll see that I think she may have ovulated about a month sooner. The third girl I'm breeding LAID in May of last year. I doubt she's going this year. That's really all I can give you. I think it depends on the female and their overall body condition when you beginning pairing. I just don't have the data to back up my claims just yet.

I wish I had your luck, I only had one girl ready this year. Probably a dozen locks and nothing no signs of building either except she went off food two months ago. But the male ice been pairing her with is still taking anything I give him, so I'm thinking, he's locking, but not you know.. getting err done, so to speak. I gave up for now gunna try again in another six months or so with her, she's 1850 grams btw. And he's 500.

Right on time here, started having eggs in late february, 12 clutches down 10 more to go
-
-
First eggs end of March and hatched this week.
6 clutches in the incubator, 2 due to lay any day (day 32 and day 35 POS), 4 more have already ovy'd and shed, 12 more girls possible to ovy, but I'd say only 8 are very likely to go.
8-10 more girls will come online this fall with no pick-ups
