Re: Can I start handling my ball python yet?
He has blue tinting on his head. He's been soaking, too.

But I got sketched out and ran and got him a thermostat just in case.

I would bump up that humidity quite a bit when you catch him going into shed since it looks like he has a retained eye cap: easier to get it off with the next shed.

It's at about 70. That picture does make it look like he has a spectacle, but in real life it's not too bad. Even with the humidity, he's soaking.

I mean it doesn't look like it, not that it's not bad. Ball pythons kind of have funny looking eyes, don't they?

You should ALWAYS have a thermostat to regulate UTHs and other heat sources (burns HAPPEN)! Good thing you got one though. Blue eyes are pretty sure fire sign of a shed. Yay!

Re: Can I start handling my ball python yet?
Yeah, I've been trying to get one, but on my list of expenses the one thing I forgot was a thermostat, and didnt have enough money to buy one until yesterday, so now I have it. I was constantly checking temperatures like a Mom checking a first time camper's backpack. It gave me an excuse to stare at him, but now I can relax.

Also, anybody know a place to get a laser thermometer? I have a corn snake, beardie, leopard gecko, and BP so it'd be nice to check different hides' temps instead of moving those dinky thermometer dials everywhere around each Viv.
