Painting PVC perches for my carpet's cage?
Hi there everyone,
I'll be moving my carpet to her new cage soon, and I was thinking of painting the PVC perches in her cage to make them look more like wood--would this be safe for her? and what type of sealer should I use? I just thought it would look cool and more natural. If it's not such a good idea, then I'll definitely leave them white, whatever is best for my girl is what I'll do. Thanks in advance!

PVC will take paint better if you sand/scuff it first and I believe Krylon paint does well on plastics and is pet safe once completely cured.
Double check the cans though just to be sure.

And since you brought it up, we'd love to see the pics of the finished product.. That's a project I'd like to do for my "kids" soon.

have you thought about scorching your PVC? Just take it outside and get it stationary and use a blowtorch and "cook it". It makes it turn brown and black as long as you do it right and not for too long. Do it outdoors as it can produce some nasty odors. But its 100% safe from my understanding, once its cooled. I have it in all my carpet cages.

I was gonna reccomend this too. If it's a white PVC and done right it can have a neat bambooish look to it.
