Trying to find food for one snake

I've recently acquired an adult ball and he's enjoying small rats. This is my only snake, so I've been going to Petsmart for food, but I hate going there because they overcharge. And I've looked at some of the big rodent companies and can't stand spending that much on shipping. Bulk won't work either since I live in an apartment with a small freezer. Does anyone know where I can get a single snake kind of rat order that won't break the bank?

You can check local reptile stores. They sometimes stock frozen rodents from those rodent companies and sell them in lesser quantities.

Check Craigslist or your state-specific reptile groups on Facebook, you can find rodent breeders advertising feeders for local pick-up. Most will happily sell just one or two if you bring cash and a critter carrier. You will also pay less than you have been for frozen from the big box store.

Reptile conventions usually have frozen rodent vendors. You can buy enough just to last you until the next convention

What is your location, there are a few members on here that breed their own and might be able to help you out.

Google reptile show with the name of your city and see what comes up. As was said, there's usually at least one vendor there selling frozen, then you can get smaller quantities with no shipping. If your city brings no results try the nearest large city. I actually have 2 monthly shows just a little over an hour from my house.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
