I am relatively new to the herp life and from what I've read, You really don't want to go cheap with your thermostat. I was thinking about going cheaper as well but seeing as how these snakes are going to live 15+ years, I would rather have something that I didn't have to worry about and that is reliable. I went with a Herpstat 2 from spyder robotics.
