Bp hasn't eaten is 7 months, yet she's about to shed?

Not sure what to think about this.
My big female hasn't eaten in 7 months but is going into a shed cycle.

Can someone please explain this to me?

This has to go under the "Snakes do weird things" category

They don't only shed when growing. They also do it when healing from an injury . . . when they have mites . . . when ill . . . for hormonal reasons . . . after an unusually big meal . . . and especially just to replace an old, worn out skin, as they can't do it cell by cell like us lucky mammals.

My male has been fasting for quite a while and has shed twice. Apparently they don't need to eat or necessarily grow to shed. Don't worry about it though

Just because a BP is fasting doesn't mean it's empty. My male was off food from early October of last year to the middle of April this year, so about six months. A week before he started eating again he pooped.

Now that's weird! Have gotten lots of pee but never a poop from a fasting bp. Lol. Such interesting critters.
