I've had my dog lick some of my snakes... I have been afraid of her getting tagged when she shoves her snout in the cage when I open it, but that hasn't happened. They usually don't react at all to her, only startled if she comes out of nowhere near their face. I'd say it was the stress of transporting your normal that did it.
