    Thermostat

What kind of thermostat should I get for my setup. Something under 100 bucks would be good. And that I can hook up a couple pads to. And can they run both thermal strips and heat pads together?

    Re: Thermostat

I bought a zoo med for my one tank. It was about 35 bucks. It can do 2 uth but you need to look at the rating of the stat and uth. Mine can run 2 but I only have one cause I finished my rack and am using a herp 4. I would use it for my tank as well but I had it before my rack. The zoo med is like a rheostat. Make sure you have a way of checking temp after you turn it on. Start on low and go from there.

For your application, to run multiple appliances off of 1 t-stat they must be the same type and wattage, otherwise one will be hotter than the other.

A thermostat is not something I'd skimp on the price. Buy quality.

    Re: Thermostat

Im looking into herpstats now, Ive been reading and your right about skimping out on the thermostat. I'm new to the snake world so I want to do it right from the start, I believe im going to get a herpstat2 because I just have one snake atm but if i get a second Ill have the extra jack.

What is the normal price range for herpstat 1/2 ?

    Re: Thermostat

Good choice buddy, the herpstat 1 will run you roughly 140 and the 2 just under 200.

Yea there is no point in cheaping OUT but you could get a hyrdofarm they are not bad at all. and run about 35$ as far as zoo meds, it is trash they have no temp range, its just a green to red color change, and they are by far the worse temp range, 90 degree hotspot drops to about 80, then kicks back up!
